We were on a cruise from Galveston and we left our vehicle in the Comfort Inn in Stewart Beach 102 East Seawall Blvd and was wondering if there was any pictures of that area, we cant fill a claim until our vehicle is located and no one can give us any information I know this is nothing in comparison to the people who have lost everything I truly feel for you but it any one could give us information we would truly appreciate it. we are back home in Arkansas after being dumped in New Orleans by Carnival and told to find our own way home. praying for you and you're island. cathie lee

I can tell you that Carnival will never see my business...never!

When I saw the people on TV who took the Vera Cruz option, I wanted to yell at them not to do it if they arrived on the island by auto and were leaving them parked here.  Personally, I could never have enjoyed the cruise anyway, knowing that the island was likely to be the target.  Carnival lines certainly did a great disservice to their customers by being so greedy.   They just ruined their image in the minds of a lot of people.

You may have already tried this but there is a satelite link on Galveston.com that you can zoom in and out on and see pretty much the whole island. Hope this helps!! Good Luck!

You're probably parked next to ours.  Found satellite of our car on the NOAA website as of 9/14 anyway.  Plan to drive to Galveston on Saturday.

I have located the Comfort Inn on the NOAA site.

If you click on the small picture, it will zoom in very close.  Then, you can use your scroll bars to go towards the southeast of the picture.  (Apologies if I'm over-simplifying things).  I believe that the building with the red roof is the Comfort Inn.  It looks like there are 3 cars in the front parking lot.

I also understand that google earth has an add-on for post-Ike pictures that will allow you to get very close.  I don't have that link though, I'm sorry.

Good luck.  Oh,  you might try emailing Comfort Inn.  I'm pretty sure the phones aren't working yet.

I can not believe this! What an outrage. If I ever decide to take a cruise (which I've been talking myself into it before Ike) you can be dang sure it will not be with Carnival. Tsk-tsk. I hope you all find your cars. You, too, are truly a victim here.

You are unique just like everyone else. Hmm

You can see three cars in front of the motel as mine is the one in the middle, but the magnification on Noaa is not good enough to really tell if they are damaged or have been in deep water. The main number for Comfort Inn central is 888 544 3200. Today i called them and they said they still had no communication with that particular Comfor Inn. But they did say that it would not reopen untill after january 09'. Go figure? I guess the only way to know for sure is to just drive down there and see for yourself. I am going down saturday and if the owners of the other 2 cars still don't know about their vehicles when i return  i will post my findings here. Keep your fingers crossed!
