This video is a look back at the 2006 Galveston Lifesaving Association’s BBQ fundraiser.

This year's event will be held Friday, June 27th, 2008 from 6:00pm - 11:00pm at 24th and Post Office at The Press Box.

This event will benefit Galveston Lifesaving Association's National Competition Team as well as the Jr. Lifeguard Team that will be competing at the United States Lifesaving Associations National Lifeguard Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC in August. Proceeds also benefit the Galveston Island Beach Patrol Junior Lifeguard Scholarship program and other special projects of Galveston Lifesaving Association including the Beach Wheelchair Program, Survivor Support Network and others.

Mouth watering BBQ and all the fixings head the menu. There will be live entertainment from local bands as well.  A silent auction will be conducted from 6:00-9:00.

Tickets for this event will be available from any Galveston Island Beach Patrol Lifeguard or Junior Lifeguard and also by calling (409) 763-4769.

This is a fun event for the entire family. So come out, eat some great Bar-B-Q have a great time with the members of Galveston Lifesaving Association and their families!

 I see them setting up for this almost every year.  One block from where I work....I will heading back from Pensacola that week so I can't attend but I highly recommend all other locals and tourists as well.  It's for a great cause!
