Uh oh, thats gonna be putting them right in Peg's path.  She does a lot of her shopping at Baybrook Mall, so you can bet she will be visiting JoAnns more often than she used to.  That will make her almost as happy as I was when they opened the Fry's Electronics store just across the creek in Webster.  Just what we need, another place close to the house where we can impulse buy stuff we can't live without.   Smile

    I'll tell her.

Oh yeah, I'm like a kid in a candy store in that place.  I don't go in there any more unless I have a specific need, and then I go straight to get what I need, don't look right or left, and get out just as quickly as I can.  As a matter of fact, I actually just upgraded my old clunker of a home built computer yesterday with a new motherboard, a faster processor, a new 500 watt power supply, and a bunch more memory.  Spent most of last night putting it back together.  And the stuff came from Fry's.  I'm sitting here now driving my new souped up hot rod computer.  Wheee!  How did I ever live without Fry's?  Oh yeah, I remember, I ordered parts direct from Taiwan.  Of course they still make 'em there, but I can get 'em quicker now in that toy store for nerds and  geeks up the road.

     How funny, Dawg!!! hahaha

We went to fry's yesterday so hubby could buy a new motherboard component or whatever you call it... his blew up last week....hahhahahahahaha....great minds think alike...

Yeah, you are correct about having an itinerary when you go in that place...in, out, dont stop to look at anything other than what you went in for...no left, right....etc....i always get caught up in the camera stuff and cooking gizmos....the son the video games...the daughter everything...can only imagine what it looks like in her little world...wow!!!1

When Fry's first opened in Plano, hubby working downtown....he stopped there everyday on the way home til he had the place sized up....then he took us down there and was tour guide....couldnt believe it......we just did without or borrowed from someone else til fry's came along ,,,, hahaha

No, it ain't Harbor Freight.  That's in Pasadena, about twenty minutes away. Smile  That's my second favorite store.  Again, Taiwanese toys, but now I don't order from the catalog any more. Just go to Stinkadena.

Fry's ain't necessarily the cheapest if you don't shop with care.  But, I never, never buy the latest stuff.  I'm always at least two or three years behind the curve, and that's an eternity with electronics doo-hickeys.  I haven't acutally owned a new computer in at least fifteen years, for example.  My sons in law are both computer professionals, and they just smile tolerantly at my set up here.

That's okay by me.  When they start acting impressed, I'll know I've spent too much money, prolly. Big Smile

    Wow, that is coincidental, J.R.

Well, my motherboard didn't blow, but I was so far behind the times that it's slow processor and tiny memory were beginning to get on my nerves big time.  I'm really pretty impatient, and I had recently upgraded my wife's computer because she does some heavy lifting with huge geneology files and stuff, so she needed the power.  Anyway, I ocassionaly sit down at her computer to check her backup routines (she is very lax with that), and every time I sat there, I got itchy for more power on my own computer.  So, I looked for Fry's sales, and here I am.

I NEEDED it, you know.  Smile  A person must take care of a person's needs.

Nope, fry's not the cheapest by any means, but we shop on closeout or sale like you do...sometimes, when some major something breaks, we have to cave into the pressure and buy what we need....our favorite tags are the floor model closeouts..or the stuff that supposedly obsolete...meaning it is 6 months old....take a risk, but sure is cheaper...

hubby says better to build your own...what he does...then you can have what you want, how you want it....you have to remember computer professionals are totally different type of animals...i should know, hubby is one....their eyes light up, they are almost reverent when talking about the latest gizmo, gadget or what they dream to have some day...and you have no stinking clue as to what they are talking about....for hubby, i just go get him a gift card for some gadget that way he can pick out the what he is currently drooling for....hahahaha

Your inlaws would probably freak at hubby's setup here.. 4 monitors on his side of the computer desk, dont know how many boxes under the desk, printers, fax, gadgets, etc

Now me, i only have one computer, printer/scanner on my side of the world here...and that is the way i like it...cause if i ever got the same setup over here i would trip on the wires and break my neck...hahahahahah

yes, I know you NEEEDED it...smile!!!  just like hubby...hahahahahaha

seriously, though, a little investment into an upgrade, makes life in this computer world much easier....otherwise, we all couldnt converse as quickly as we do....

Smile Yeah, that's true.  At my stage of the game, it's my link to the outside world.  My link to you guys, my link to my family, and just about the most useful tool I can imagine.  So, it really is more than a toy to me.  I don't do games, dont even have one on the computer, but the internet, the word processor, the links to my bank, and all of that are becoming very close to being "needs", even though I know they are luxuries.

Besides, I like to tinker, as you might imagine.  Smile
