I didn't see a year on the post card. I think that it's an imaginitively retouched black & white photo. The plane and boats don't look real, the whole thing could be an artist's rendering.

Also, keep in mind that Mr. Cherry is not now, and never has been, a working journalist. I seriously doubt that he spends much time on research. He appears to write his stuff off the top of his head from memories.

HERE.....Trying to hold onto my Job...so not able to get online as much these days.  I have been reading all the posts since my last one in April & wow...lots going on.  I like the "OFF" club....lol.  I have never went onto facebook & know nothing about it, so I am staying here on the Galveston Forum.  It's interesting to see the posts about the Flagship too....I have been wondering what was or is going to happen to it.  Been watching the Surf Cam daily to see the progress on the Jetty restoration going on there...stuff like that.

Hope to stay in touch more in the future.  Yall take care & it's good to read yall's posts again.  Missing Galveston so much.  Like NMLady, I too haven't been to the island since Sept/Oct 2007.

Would anyone know what's going on with the Sandpiper Motel??  No recent articles in the Galveston Daily News & no pics either.  Just wondering if it's being torn down or Redone??

Susan & I have discovered facebook (she does the communications and keeps me informed). I found some Terlingua websites and found a lot of old friends on facebook. It's been good to reconnect -- I'm amazed that some of them are still alive.

I'm here and that's no small feat considering the week I've had!

Ah. Well, here's to a speedy recovery.  So, was the hospital successful in re-doing your humorectomy?

If not, I do think that it's possible to get a free successful re-do on failed Humorectomies.  Just read the financial news every day, and look at your 401k.

I am sure the hospital bill (Uninsured) will take whatever humor is left in me.

I did Octoberfest, or as my neighbor calls it "Beer Fest", Friday. Good crowd, great weather, cold beer. What more could you ask for? Well maybe free beer?
