I've been PO'ed about Dymond's case for quite some time, now.

Seems that the local cops are able to harass the innocent and then lie en masse to cover their own tushies.

"Let's get our stories straight, guys!"

Do we see a pattern emerging here?

For some reason, this photo reminded me of the Dymond Milburn case, the H2O beatdown, the jailing of a young man on a bicycle bringing food to his mother, the intimidation of City Council member Tarris Woods by a Galveston police officer ... et cetera

The GCDN is reporting that Chief Willey is on the hot seat!

Everything that happens will happen today.

I was happy to see that.  He really needs to get rid of some of the bad officers - I understand that he didn't create the GPD culture, but he cannot acquiesce to it either.  If it's going to take calling the feds, then that's what he needs to do.  We cannot have another property room theft blamed on a civilian employee when almost all of Galveston is aware that there is some kind of GPD corruption involved with the drug sales here.  We need to deal with the amount of misconduct involved in the narcotics division not turning in seized drugs or cash, not keeping track of the amounts seized, and not keeping track of which officer was holding which cash and which drugs.  Clearly this 'system' was designed to cloak corruption.  Let's deal with that - which includes a good hard look at the people doing holding of the cash and drugs - the narctocis department.

We need to deal with the fact that the narcotics team beat Dymond Milburn, arrested her father and Dymond afterwards in a horrible conflict of interest, and didn't turn in seized drugs and cash, or keep track of how much was seized or who held on to it.  I was also very disappointed that Wiley allowed ANY of the H2O beatdown charges to be filed.  I was also greatly disappointed at the large number of uniformed officers present at Dymond's trial, staring down the jury.  This should never have been allowed either.

We need to deal with the fact that  GPD officer threatened a city council member, and the only GPD captain shot at a car that was driving away from him.  We need to deal with the situation where a GPD officer said he was shot at by a suspect (the officer had rearended the suspect's car) - and then the suspect ended up badly beaten in the hospital.  There was no evidence found proving the suspect had a gun, had fired a shot, no shells were found, no gunpowder residue.  The suspect was black and the officer white.  This same officer caused a GC Sheriff's deputy to lose his job by charging him wtih "interfering wtih a police officer."  The Sheriff's deputy who lost his job was black, and was at his family's club.  I see a pattern here.

It makes me so glad to see people posting on this issue.  Thank you, it's great to know some people care.

Wiley screwed up when he allowed the Milburn case to go to the DA, it should never have gone that far. Sistrunk screwed up by taking it to the grand jury, and the grand jury should have thrown it out.

Wiley screwed up again when he didn't call for an outside investigation into the H2O Riot, then letting the officers file more charges against the victims.

Absolutely I agree. But juvenile cases don't go to grand jury, and the DA can dismiss at any time even if a grand jury indicts.  Sistrunk did it all on his own.  What a low life!  He could have dismissed before the trial.  Instead he put a little girl through that much more terror.  Creep!

And yes, Wiley should have called in the feds to investigate the H2O riot.  If he doesn't do that soon ....
