Here is a new article about the Flagship:

    http://galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=52c78399fa7b4021

    What do you think?

Is there any activity there other than the curtains blowing in the breeze?

I didn't read any information about that giant garage sale I'm hoping will happen once "work" starts taking place.

If Fertitta is in fact going to make the Flagship the flagship it should be, I know it'll be out of my price and I'll just be one of those tourists with a camera around my neck ruminating over my fond memories of times past.

I think that with every passing day that is sits in it's current state of disrepair the more likely it is to be torn down!

Just this week, Fertitta (Landry's) announces plans for the Flagship:

Open by 2011?  Is that what it said?

Well, if he follows through, it will be great.  He will be taking the pier back to it's roots, and I think it will be a super tourist attraction.  Beats a casino any old day IMO.

I agree it is better then a casino. Then again if we get gambling it could be easily converted.

Everything that happens will happen today.
