The near ideal fall weather we have been having should linger for two or three more days before clouds return to our area. The high pressure now bringing sunny, cool, dry conditions will move off to the east by Wednesday. This will allow southerly winds to bring in some Gulf moisture ahead of another cool front.
The outlook beyond Friday remains uncertain at this time as the models disagree about the longer range weather pattern. There is a chance that clouds and rain possibilities will continue as warmer air flows over the top of the shallow cool air. If we look longer term, it appears that Thanksgiving week will bring some rainfall and temperatures will remain slightly cooler than normal for this time of year.
The first map below shows the precipitation outlook through Sunday (coutresy of NOAA). Rainfall chances for that period will be best to our south and west, but we may see a few sprinkles and some clouds. The second and third maps give the outlook for Thanksgiving week, with near normal precipitation expected over southeast Texas and normal to cooler than normal temperatures on tap for that week.
