Don't miss out on catching Alfred Hitchcock's thriller "Psycho" on Saturday, Oct. 3.  "Psycho" is the featured movie for this month's Movie Nite on The Strand shown at Saengerfest Park, 23rd & Strand. The movie should start shortly after 8 p.m. But come early and get some samples from the new Nestle Toll House Cafe. It's conveniently located directly across from Saengerfest Park. I'm also excited about Head to Footsies' Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday. This new boutique is located at 2211 Strand in the former location of IZOD. I won't miss IZOD with this great shop taking its spot. Another local favorite, Santa Fe Trails should be reopening on Monday. My husband bought me the most beautiful touquoise necklace with matching earrings there. They have great jewelry.

New this year... Hotel Galvez is opening its ghost tour, typically reserved for hotel guests, to the public. Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 8, visitors can pay $10 and join the concierge for a one hour ghost tour/paranormal investigation of the hotel. Tickets are available in the gift shop. The tour begins at 5:30 p.m. This public tour is on Thursdays only. Of course this leads into ArtWalk on Saturday, Oct. 10. This is one of the best events in Galveston. You can browse around various galleries and see an abundance of locals and visitors. The Tremont House will host an exhibit from Rosenberg Library as part of ArtWalk. As part of Seaside City: Maritime Galveston, Rosenberg Library will present various historic postcards and paintings. Don't miss it - ArtWalk is from 6 to 9 p.m.
