Have you tried Chopin Mon Ami for lunch or dinner?  They have wonderful comfort food. On several occasions I have felt not at all like preparing food, and was able to have meals better than Mom used to make.  They prepare one selection per day so I don't even have to make a choice!  And they have dessert as well. I've tried several of the entrees (meatloaf and mashed potatoes! King Ranch chicken!) and all are hearty and truly comforting. I do wish they would include more green vegetables; they lean toward the starchy ones.  Dinners are available for pickup, but I understand they do lunch delivery.  Definitely worth it.

They are at 1508 39th, mid-Island.  See www.galveston.com/ChopinMonAmi.  I'm not sure if they are taking charge cards now, you'll have to check.  They were flooded pretty thoroughly in Ike so they have had to regroup.
